Changes...

Before my mom used to leave her office with hundred things running in her mind..what to cook..things to be done..and other thoughts which tire you more..n give you a dull feeling. But now she leaves office as early as possible. She gets a warm welcome from notty..sits with it for few mins...and she's all refreshed to get back to her house work..and everything goes fine!

Recently my grandparents had gone on a 9-day tour to jim-corbett park-nainital-and few other places..and everytime they called the first question used to be..how's notty..what is it doing..and they would say we are missing it a lot and want to leave everything and come to be with us(they meant just notty ;) ) !

This is my cute cousin abhishek. He stays 5 mins away from my place but even when his parents used to come to my place for a family get-together he used to prefer playing down with his friends or watching TV@home! But now he comes as often as possible :)

This is my naughty dad sleeping with his newly arrived daughter!!
Even he used to come home at 9 p.m. most of the days..tired and irritated! He never took his car(due to irritating traffic jam's), nor did he take a rick comfortably home! Now he takes his car so that he can save the time he used to spend waiting for the bus! Else he comes home by rick...all the way from Seepz Andheri to Mulund!!
I used to taunt a lot before that for notty's sake he started leaving office early n reaches home by 7.30- 8..But now i don't..coz he's happy!
This is what i always wanted...Everyone should be happy in a family..there should be no arguments or fights..no tension...only love, peace and happiness! And notty has made it possible! I call it as OUR little Stress-Buster!!!

Notty@45 days old

This is how it looked when i got it home!
It was very difficult for me to find a name for it coz i knew many male names..but hardly any female names for a dog! The real problem was that my grandparents wanted a meaningful and not western name(i.e. english names like molly/snoopy/etc etc) ! As my pup's coat color is a mix of off-white n golden beige..i had named it goldie initially...then came golu...but as days passed she became very naughty and troubled me a lot so i named her NOTTY :) !! It suits her..!
I am very impatient so get irritated/angry very very fast! And you need nothing but patience and lots and lots of it to bring up a dog! i am learning slowly! coz irrespective of how angry i am on her,her innocent looks n the love in her eyes melt my heart and i forget about the badmashi she's done!! And my mom says that i used to trouble her exactly the same way as notty does! So she's happy that i am experiencing how difficult it is to bring up a child and learning to be patient!
My vacations are going on as of now..till mid-july! So i am having the time of my life...spending almost 24 hours with notty! Ofcourse all i do full day is clean it's pee n poo all over the house...i am trying to toilet train it and hope it learns soon! The end part i what i wait for..the moment you sit down she comes running towards you...u get licked..sometimes bitten..scratched all over..and finally after she's content of showering her love she settles down in your lap :) !These are the only way she can express herself to us!

Raja

How Raja came home..!
In 1982 my grandparents lost their youngest son rajshekhar. Every member was deeply affected by his sudden demise, but my grandmom was completely heartbroken. After this tragedy my granny lost faith in god and stopped doing daily her routine pooja, reciting shlokas, etc
Even after 5-6 years she couldn't overcome the loss! To bring back her back to normal again n see her smile my dad n grandpa decided to bring home a dog..they did and named it RAJA in remembrance of my uncle! And this dog's unconditional love did help her overcome her lost happiness little by little!
Raja was brought home few years after i was born(1987)!

It was bigger than the usual pom' ...more taller! Although my mom also loved it she din't like her child(me) being given 2nd priority by everyone i.e. raja never allowed anyone to come near me before they petted him! When i used to sit on my papa's lap it used to push me n make place for it to sit..n except my mom everyone let it do whatever it wanted! It was because of my mom that it was a very disciplined dog...it never entered the kitchen or sat on our beds! but like every child it had it's share of fun and breaking the rules in my mom's absence...hehe!
We didn't feed it non-veg as we are bhramins' ! but we used to give it boiled egg every alternate day..and it used to eagerly wait 4 that day! But very smartly it would lick away the mashed egg pieces and leave the rice behind :) ! I was in Sr. K.G when we had to give it away! Even though i was very small i still remember many of it's naughty incidents and i had trained it to jump across the stool and few other tricks :) !
We gave it away to our family friend before leaving for banglore! It troubled them a lot!
Later my dad used to tour 2 indore often n as soon as he entered the lane where raja stayed, raja used to start barking and jumping around, bang at the gate...desperate to meet my dad! That's why they say that dogs are faithful! This went on for 3-4 years then that bengali family shifted to calcutta ! And we haven't heard from them after that..!

Intro~Notty

My pet notty!
Notty is not my first pet..i had a Pomeranian 16years back. V used 2 stay in indore in an independent house which had a big backyard for the dog to move around and play! We had to give it away since we were going to shift to banglore and stay in a FLAT with limited space! Even though everyone in my family is fond of dogs,we were against it because of space constraints and lack of time. For all these 16years almost every day i had been pestering my parents and trying 2 convince them to get me a pet..and now finally i managed to get one@march 2008..it was an unexpected and the best gift i could ever have...20th march being my birthday!!

I have been religiously feeding street dogs, puppies, kittens, etc till date. But like most of us even i wanted a pedigree dog. So the reason i went for a cross-breed is that it was easier for me to convince my parents to get the pup home now. For a pedigree maybe i would have taken another 2 years i.e. after i start earning(m half way thru engineering course)!

But let me tell you i never thought i would feel so good about owning a cross-breed. Everyone in my family feels proud to say that 'HUMNE ADOPT KIYA' ! And i wouldn't say that i have given NOTTY a loving home, but it has made my home sweet home sweeter and loving!
